The sidewalk cafes were fun to sit in and watch and listen to the world, you hear a lot of different dialects in the course of a half hour to an hour sitting. I had lunch on the Avenue des Champs Elysees, nothing fancy- meat, cheeses, a baguette, and a glass of red wine.
The day started by leaving the hotel at 6:00am and walking to and along the Seine. The day was long and involved quite a bit of walking, sait along the Seine for awhile and watched the water traffic.
Had the first of 7 attempts at the same scam pulled on me- A person (only 2 were men) would bend down and pick up a gold wedding band off the ground and ask if you lost it. They would say what a shame that someone lost their treasure- and look it has an inscription on the inside. This next part varied- but the guy told me that I should either give it to the authorities or perhaps keep it for when I met my true love and give it to her because it would be special since it was found in Paris. THEN, and you know there is a then- you get about two steps and they start asking for money. What an interesting scam. I had it attempted 6 more times over the course of the day. I watched one women and she was pathetic at it, with a person watching she would place it on the ground and then pick it up all in one motion.
I am heading down for breakfast and then to the Eiffel Tower- today is National day in France with parades and then fireworks tonight at 11pm in front of the Tower. Today is supposed to be a nice day as compared to yesterday when it stayed in the mid 60's with drizzle and rain showers all day.

Quite breathtaking the first time you catch a glimpse of the tower. The weather was like this all day. |

The traffic that goes around it is insane. I will post a video later. |
Great photos. I loved sitting at the sidewalk cafes and people watching. You had my favorite crepe!
