Monday foodie experiences

I had lunch as a local establishment, I watched where local workers were going and went in and had the tempura lunch special. It was very good except for the tempura fish- the little suckers were staring at me daring to eat them- and I failed, just could not get my head wrapped around it and I hope my picture does them justice.
These little guys won- they did not get eaten

Dinner tonight was a 180 degrees from last night. Stopped at the Japanese equivalent of a sushi fast food place. You walk in and sit at a bar in front of a conveyer belt where the sushi and or sashimi passes on plates in front of you. There are two items per plate and your tab is based on how many plates you eat and there are different costs based on what is on the plate- the plates are color coded. There is a hot water spigot between every two seats so you help yourself to the water and add green tea crystals to create the strength you desire. I had 2 plates each of Shrimp, Tuna, Salmon, and one of the squid and the bill came to 700 yen or about $7. I did skip on the Squid Guts roll- I am not kidding, that is how it was listed on the menu and that is exactly what it looked like as well. Yum- appetizing.
Excellent shrimp with a little bit of wasabi under each one

The Squid Guts- I passed on these as well

Make your own green tea

The sushi chef is in the background and was constantly making new items and adding them to the conveyer belt
